#12 Salt Tavern

On Saturday, my birthday, we celebrated at #12 Salt Tavern in Upper Fells Point.  Salt is within walking distance from my house, which is one of many reasons I will be going back!  For those who drove, we were also offered a "secret" reserved parking spot, which is always a rarity in the city!

The restaurant is quite small, but they were able to accommodate our large group comfortably.  We started off the meal with cocktails ... blood orange gin and tonics, for example, and also split some duck fat fries, that were almost as good as the dipping sauces they came with.  The menu is quite unique and the portions are small, but priced proportionately.  Everything we ordered was delicious!

#9 Petit Louis Bistro

2017 was off to a slow start as far as Monday Meals were concerned, but only because there were so many other fun things happening!  Also, we have some wiggle-room, because there are only SEVEN restaurants left on our list - this will be the year we finish, but brainstorming has already begun as far as what is next!  We finally kicked off the year with #9 Petit Louis Bistro in Roland Park (they also have a location in Columbia), and were so happy to share a meal and catch up with our friend Nick, who is home from Germany!

We entered Petit Louis through an arched doorway, were greeted in a French accent, and passed a cart of assorted cheeses on our way to our table, complete with a plush, red, velvet banquet, and that was only the beginning!

The menu offered a variety of options with a wide price range, which meant there was something for everyone.  Also, while none of our group took advantage of their Prix Fixe menu, Petit Louis was offering their Valentines Day Prix Fixe for the entire month of February!  We made our selections and enjoyed the plentiful baskets of bread and a white wine while we anxiously awaited the main courses.

I would definitely recommend Petit Louis, and our group has already discussed returning to try their brunch in the near future!
